Gerry Hoar

I started to write my own songs when I was sixteen, but I wanted to play guitar when I was five after hearing the Beatles’ “Hard Days Night.”  For my tenth birthday I received a classical nylon stringed guitar and Roy Clark's (of Hee Haw fame) chord book. Around age nineteen I figured out a picking style for myself.

After encouragement from family and friends, I am sharing my music.

Half of these songs on “Grey” were written over the last twenty years. Frog Went a Courtin', Not Quite Right, What is Love, In Other Words, Fireworks, and Make a Home were written in the two years prior to the recording of Grey.
