Gerry Hoar
Acoustic pop/rock by a solo singer/songwriter
Hi! I'm Gerry Hoar. I write songs mostly because I have a compelling need to express what I am feeling and thinking about musically. I started to write my own songs when I was sixteen, but I wanted to play guitar when I was five after hearing the Beatles for the first time. For my tenth birthday gift I received a classical nylon stringed guitar and Roy Clark's (of Hee Haw fame) chord book. I started to teach myself how to play the guitar, and I am still learning. Around age nineteen I figured out a picking style for myself. The more I write songs, the more Ideas I have for other songs to be written. After encouragement from family and friends, I am sharing my music.
